Winter Park Resort Signs Automated Ticketing Deal with Livewire International
An automated ski lift ticket purchase system for Winter Park Resort will be available in Colorado’s
Front Range through retailers and key distribution points this season.
Livewire International announced their agreement with the prominent Rocky Mountain resort today
from their satellite office in Golden, CO. “This is an important milestone for the ski industry,”
expressed Andrew Heltzel, Livewire’s new Director of Winter Sports. “Providing this service fulfills
customer and ski resort expectations for Livewire technology. It’s an express ticket to the slopes!” he added.
The Livewire organization provides interactive, real-time content from resorts,
manufacturers and brand advertisers direct to consumers over a national kiosk retail
network. The operation has several advantages that contribute to a successful program for both
Winter Park and participating retail locations. Livewire’s ticketing process will allow retail
staff to focus on selling more merchandise and enhances operation effectiveness, while Winter
Park can save time and resources by eliminating off-site accounting on lift ticket sales. Customers
can quickly and easily purchase lift tickets via Livewire kiosks at participating locations by simply
swiping their credit card and getting a ticket. Once at the resort, skiers and snowboarders can go
directly from their car to chairlift.
Livewire’s Executive VP of Sales, John Holbert stated, “we see this Colorado initiative as a
program that could have national significance. If things go as planned, a coast-to-coast network
could be in place as early as 2003.”
Livewire International, Inc. provides a direct communication pipeline to consumers
at the retail point of purchase enabling industry participants to easily and
precisely connect with a highly qualified audience. Livewire was founded in 1998
with principal offices in York, PA and Golden, CO.
